Ostrovica
Commander of the crew was Dizdar (the fortress commander) but officially titled
as Senior Aga.
The town became the seat of Ostrovica Captaincy, which was formed in the first
years of the 18
th
century. This captaincy extended on the both sides of upper course
of the Una River. It included Orašac, Havala, Kulen Vakuf and provinces Čovka and
Donji Lapac. Its captains were members of Bosnian well – known Kulenović family.
In the war time, from 1714 to 1718, Ostrovica, Kulen Vakuf and Orašac had 989
men and after peace was terminated 561 men. In 1720 that number increased for 428
men. The military crew was settled in Ostrovica till 1878.
