rovincial town Džisr-I Kebir (the great bridge) on Una river as Kulen Vakuf was
called at first was founded by building the Mosque of Sultan Ahmed (1603-1617).
After Karlovac Peace Treaty it was ordered to Bosnian Vali Halil-Pasha to wide and to
tighten this town. Some time later, in 1713, it was ordered to Bosnian Vizier Ahmed-
Pasha to organize transportation of ten cannons, cannon balls and gunpowder as
much as it is needed from military store in Beograd to the fortress Džisr-I Kebir.
This town aroused on an artificial island near left bank of Una River. That way
next to town ramparts flew Una water and town had water defending belt, not only
ramparts. The town rampart had four doors and two trenches. On the east side of
rampart was Horić trench and on the west side Ćemalović trench. One of the main
town gates were on a great bridge and the other next to the town Mosque. Other two
rear gates were on the east and on the west side of the town near trenches.
