CAZIN
Cazin fell under the Ottomans' authority in 1578 and it became a part of Ostrožac
Captaincy. By the end of the 16
th
century the fortress of Cazin had crew of all five
branches of soldiers, 150 of them. In the beginning of the 17
th
century the crew had
202 border guards and around the middle of that century 237 border guards. Most of
them were archers and they guarded fortress and province. In the middle of the 18
th
century with 2 bigger and 4 smaller canons and the crew of 250 men Cazin was one of
the most protected fortresses in Krajina.
