alls of the old town Todorovo can be seen on a small slope near the road that
leads to Vrnograč, 22 kilometers from Cazin. In the end of the 15
th
and be-
ginning of the 16
th
century it was called Novigrad. At first this town was independent
municipality with its own administration, but under protection of Babonićs of Blagaj.
In 1531 it became property of the Dukes Zrinski. They placed their castellans in town.
The most eminent castellan was Mihajlo-Deli-Todor who successfully defended this
town from 1549 to 1560. Todorovo was named after him.
In 1562 the town was burnt almost to the ground but anyway got crew of 12 King’s
guards.
Todorovo fell under the Ottomans' authority in 1578 but it was uninhabited till
1635. In the beginning of the Ottomans' period Todorovo belonged to Captaincy of
Krupa. The crew of 217 men in the first half of the 17
th
century was under command
of fortress commander. In the first half of the 18
th
century the town was armed with 2
bigger and 3 smaller cannons and had a crew of 70 men. It was frequently attacked by
Austrian Army, but mostly destroyed in 1682 by Army of Karlovac.
